Love magazine takes over Joseph

I've been meaning to post this for a few weeks as I love the fact that Love magazine has taken over every window at Joseph on Westbourne Grove in Notting Hill. The store was closed the morning I shot these which is a bit of a shame...

It's such a fab way of getting their magazine out there (and looks fabulous!) and I think the fact that you can choose from 8 stunning collectable covers is a really quirky way of marketing the magazine.

This edition you can choose from Agyness Deyn, Sienna Miller, Kelly Brook, Giselle Bündchen, Lauren Hutton, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Alessandra Ambrosio and The Mannequin.I personally love Rosie's cover - what a bombshell she is with her red hair!

My vintage cape

I've chosen to leave the aviator to those who can afford Burberry this A/W and to wear capes instead. I snapped up this vintage cape on ebay for £15 back in February and only wore it a few times before Spring set in. This season I plan to live in it.

It is wool with a cosy fleece lining (unlike my new asos.com version) and I love the military button detailing on the front and shoulders. The cape also has a name in it - E.Anne Kipatrick. I wonder how old it is and who she was? I often wish I could step back in time to see where my vintage clothes have been in their previous life...but I guess I'll just have to provide it a new life instead.

I've mixed it up with my black zip dress is from Whistles, my biker boots from Oasis and my bag is Alexander Wang. I am hopeless at braiding my hair so Hershesons Blow Dry bar did this for me last night. I kind of feel 5 years old again with my braids but quite fancy them at the same time...

What do you think of braids? They seem to be this season's hottest catwalk trend and I love the recent hair at Sass & Bide for their 2011 show. You can see it here.

All that glitters is gold

I picked up these black and gold harem pants last week and couldn't wait to wear them in the Autumn sunshine today. I've been asked all day if they are vintage but they are actually from River Island and were only £35 (don't tell!).

They worked perfectly with my new Mulberry leopard charm necklace that my colleagues bought me for my birthday this week which I absolutely love, and plan to wear all season. I had a quick manicure at Julie Nails in Notting Hill on the weekend - the colour is Sole Mate by OPI. If you live nearby, I highly recommend them!

New Whistles conceptual store

I absolutely love British brand Whistles, so I was very excited when they opened their new conceptual store just down the road at Westfield London in Shepherd's Bush this week. Since Jane Sheperdson (ex-Topshop) took the reigns in 2008 the brand has gone from strength to strength and it is now a firm favourite among the fashion pack. The new store has a laid back minimalist interior, with Danish furniture a key feature. It also features a new personal shopping area at the back which is a first for the brand...potentially very dangerous for me!

I currently have four Whistles dresses that I rotate between work and play.I particularly like the fact that most of their dresses are made of silk and feature original prints that are just divine. The only problem I have with the brand is that (like most brands) sizing can be a bit hit and miss, but overall their designs are very flattering and I could honestly buy the whole store at the moment.

A touch of pink

It is such a beautiful day in London today. I woke up early and walked around the streets before the tourists arrived - it was so peaceful.

After I returned home we headed to Kitchen & Pantry on Elgin Crescent for breakfast and I couldn't resist buying a bunch of hydrageas from Harper & Tom's across the road as we left. They are my flower of the moment. Updated: I've since realised that Ricky from Seven Days on Channel 4 actually served me! He is really lovely.

My leopard print pants are on high rotation at the moment and have just been restocked at Topshop online here. I remember the first day I wore these my colleagues all gave them the eye before saying nothing (not a great sign). The second time I wore them everyone couldn't stop asking me about them and I was stopped twice on the street!

My necklace was picked up in a charity shop years ago and my blazer and vest are also from Topshop. These black wedges are so comfortable, I'm easing myself back into heels at the moment so they are perfect.

Scarf or Dress?

I love feather prints - I'm not sure why but they just really appeal to me along with leopard print at the moment! This McQ by Alexander McQueen dress was a fab purchase on discount website theoutnet.com. It was 60% off and I constantly get people commenting on it before asking about whether it's a scarf or dress.

It's actually both! The scarf is attached down one side of the dress and turns into a scarf at the neckline. It's quite short (and a bit see through) so I also team it with ruched leggings or my Sass & Bide black rats. Black wedge cutouts are new from Zara. See them online here.

Mulberry for the boy

It was Mr Porter's birthday awhile back and I have had no idea what to get him until he recently announced that his wallet was falling apart and he needed a new one.

We looked at quite a few different brands and all were much the same but it was this Mulberry 8 card and coin wallet that made the cut because of it's space. I absolutely love it and the leather is divine. You can see it online here.

The lovely sales girl and I got chatting about how mad everyone had gone for the brand lately. Apparently 90% of S/S10 sold out (the extra 10% of sales stock flew off the shelf in one day) and there is currently 10,000 names on the list for new Alexa bag out in late September! Clearly no recession at Mulberry then?

First leaves of Autumn

It's a fairly windy day today in London and the gorgeous autumn leaves are starting to fall. I love this time of the year, and especially enjoy kicking my way through the leaves in the morning on my way to work.

Today I'm wearing my new Zara wedge ankle boots in a dark camel shade. They were a steal at £59.99 and sold out online straight away when their site launched last week. The good news is that they're back in stock here. They also come in black and are nice and comfy too! My peacock print harem pants are from Topshop. You can see them online here.
